ACT Math Tutoring
Online ACT Math Tutor for High School Students
ACT Math consists of 60 questions and the student has 1 hour to complete it, so speed and strategy matter as much as content. The test pulls from prealgebra through statistics, and many students lose points on timing rather than knowledge. With 15+ years of classroom and tutoring experience, I help students raise their ACT Math scores through 1:1 virtual sessions over Zoom or Google Meet.
Topics I cover
Prealgebra & Elementary Algebra
Integers, fractions, ratios, percentages, linear equations, and inequalities
Intermediate Algebra
Quadratic equations, systems of equations, functions, and radical expressions
Coordinate Geometry
Graphing lines, slope, distance and midpoint formulas, circles, and conic sections
Plane Geometry & Statistics
Angles, triangles, area and volume, mean, median, and probability
My approach
When introducing a new topic, I begin with a mini-lesson, a few examples, and up to three independent practice exercises. Throughout the lesson, I ask questions to check for understanding and make sure concepts are truly mastered, not just memorized. For the ACT, we also work on timing strategy, calculator efficiency, and how to recognize the question types that appear most often. Every session is customized to your child's goals, pace, and weaknesses.
