The power of Desmos on the math section of the digital SAT

Desmos is a very underrated tool on the digital SAT. It is astonishing how many students don't know how to utilize it for its efficiency. The truth is Desmos can be a huge time saver on the math section, especially on the more difficult questions encountered in Module 2.

Yes, math teachers encourage students to leverage Desmos for quizzes and tests, but a lot of students don't exactly know how to leverage it for SAT math, and that's because students are taught to solve math problems by hand on a sheet of paper. Yes, that can be effective, but not on a timed test.

The SAT is more of a strategy test than a math, reading, or writing test. This means formulating the correct strategy when answering a question, and that strategy will be different for each question. Sometimes that strategy might require using Desmos, which can save students time in getting to the correct answer.

With Desmos, students can solve complex algebraic equations, use function notation, graph matching equations, and even set up regression analysis from a table of values. It wasn't designed to fast-track a student to a perfect score, but it was designed to help a student become more efficient when managing their time during a timed test.
