Online PreAlgebra Tutoring for Middle School Students
PreAlgebra is a prerequisite to Algebra 1, which is the foundation to all of the high school math courses that follow. With 15+ years of classroom and tutoring experience, I help students master PreAlgebra through 1:1 virtual sessions over Zoom or Google Meet, setting them up to succeed in every math course that follows.
Topics I cover
Fractions
Operations with fractions, mixed numbers, and rational expressions.
Basic algebraic equations
Solving one-step and two-step equations, combining like terms, variables, coefficients, constants, PEMDAS.
Integers
Positive and negative numbers, absolute value, and order of operations.
Geometry & Statistics
Area, perimeter, angles, pythagorean theorem, mean, median, and probability.
My approach
When introducing a new topic, I begin with a mini-lesson, a few examples, and up to three independent practice exercises. Throughout the lesson, I ask questions to check for understanding and make sure concepts are truly mastered, not just memorized. Every session is customized to your child's goals, pace, and weaknesses.
